Does anyone know of a company that will deliver compost/topsoil by the cubic yard in DFW?

Thanks.

I asked about mulch delivery a few days ago and was recommended Walton's, Soil Building Systems or Living Earth.

Good luck!

Texas Pure does...but you might have to be a Collin County resident. Not sure.

So it seems other cities CAN purchase from Texas Pure...and it looks like Richardson is a member city, so you'd get the reduced rate...woo-hoo!

Here's the link:

City of Plano - Home (http://plano.gov/Departments/Environmental%20Services/yarddebris/Texas_Pure/Pages/default.aspx - broken link)

Compost: $26/ cubic yard
Topsoil: $30/ cubic yard
Delivery Fee to Richardson: $40 (three cubic yard min purchase)

Or, if you have a truck, or know someone who does, you can swing by the Custer Road facility and they will dump a cubic yard in the bed. We've done that a number of times, and it was super easy and cheap...once even rented a pickup from Uhaul to do it, since that was cheaper than the delivery fee (and we only needed 1 cu. yard).

Yes, Texas Pure has a variety of products too... It's not just one type of compost or topsoil. They have different mixes.

We paid $35 for a yard of compost at Living Earth, it's nice stuff not sure I even need mulch on top. Not sure what their delivery fee is.

just want to make sure that the top soil has been purified so you won't be dragging in weed seeds into your yard--
more trouble than it is worth if you get weeds...
think some places irradiate the dirt or do something to it

Called all of these companies and was told variously that I could not request delivery at the side of the property, was put on hold and hung up on, and was in general treated rudely by every human being I spoke to.

Anyone have any other suggestions?

What do you mean "by the side of the property"? We've had Living Earth deliver to us, no problem.

If they deliver at the front then it'll be a total pain to haul the dirt around the back by the barrow-load.

Living Earth's delivery minimum is way more than I need.
